CONGRATS!!!

Congratulations to all of those who ran today!

Being on the sideline cheering you all was a very emotional and inspiring journey for me! :)
I will never forget the look of strength and determination on your faces...and the look of pain in my husband's face! :( Olivia was pretty happy to jog daddy in and we are both really proud of him.

What a day to run, the wind, the cold, you outlasted it all and I hope you all go to bed with a big goofy grin feeling the pride of being a marathoner!

Congrats again, and those of you who ran all the way to a Boston qualifier, WAY TO GO! You are an inspiration to us all.

Annie

Bob Aling For Prime Minister

We need this kind of honesty in the world.
Bob Aling was riding along side of me, for the second or third time, probably concerned about the look of agony on my face.

Bob: Hey Alastair, how do feel.
Alastair: I've felt better.
Bob: You've looked better too.

Seriously, you were everywhere you were needed, thanks Bob!

Wow !!!!

Hi Everyone

A huge congratulations to everyone who ran the Mississauga Marathon today.
As a spectator, I was so impressed by the strength, determination and perseverance I witnessed on the road today.

A special congratulations to our first time marathoners - Teresa and Wendy! You did it. And yes, Teresa, running a marathon is that hard! That is why so few people even attempt the distance.

Be proud of your accomplishments today - you are all marathoners!

Thanks Dr. Steve for your fantastic leadership and training support. I could never have imagined surviving the type of hill training and speedwork you forced on us this winter. I'll be back in a few weeks to do it all again. Looking forward to seeing everyone in June.

Happy Running
Cheryl

A Blast!

What a cool sight. The crowds were anxious, the mood was tense, and there was Pacheco in his Boston Jacket saying "Wow, I've never spectated a marathon before!", It's not always about you Joe!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the fine women out there who give us the chance to live on through our kids, fingers crossed that one of them likes to run!

The 5Th annual Mississauga marathon was amazing, I was witness to some amazing things, including some super fast performances. I was impressed by all, but very impressed by Theresa, who by all accounts was not having the best day early on, and yet found the way to bury her head and persevere. She did it! She is now a Marathoner, and her moment that she shared with me on the trails will forever be etched in my brain: Theresa said "This is really hard! I didn't know it was going to be so hard", all of this with a smile on her face.

There were many PB's and even some Boston times (I think), and the celebration must continue as you are all amazing!

Epsom salts, protein shakes and a big fat cheeseburger for all! Except for France, for you it is a big fat cinnamon bun!

Thanks for all of the smiles and true emotions today, without you this wouldn't be the best part of my job.

Congratulations.

This is it!

No more excuses.
No more training.
No more passing on dessert.
No more light beer.

The time is now.
Seize the moment and make us all proud.

You know who you are.

Nicely Done Annie and Cheryl!

Congrats to both of you!
You've proven how fierce you are, now comes my favourite part: basking in the post race glory.
Enjoy.

Thank You Mary Lynn!

Despite not having achieved my time goal and having a lot of difficulties going down the stairs I feel pretty good today! :)

But the Pig posted this info and somehow I feel a little better. When I crossed the finish my Garmin said 43.10, I kept thinking I was done and the finish just wouldn't come! LOL

Due to a multiple-alarm fire on Mile 22 of the Marathon course, the start of the race was delayed by about 15 minutes. The course was re-directed around the emergency, adding an estimated fourth of a mile to the route. The route still will be certified as an official course.

If you multiply your time by .9905 you will get your official time, and the Boston qualifier time....
Although in my case an hour would need to be shaved! :)
Dear Annie and Cheryl,

A huge congratulations on your amazing marathons!

You must be elated! Savour the memories... and the medals.

Looking forward to hearing all about the race on Thursday night!

Well done!

Mary Lynn

Wings would have helped in Cincinnati! :)

Hello Dr. C and company!
wings would have been a great help in Cincinnati! Who knew there was such hills in the East... I will never again say that I miss my mountains from Vancouver! I felt myself truly outmatched by the hills. But still what a beautiful course and fun time with Cheryl at the flying pig.
3 things I learned on my journey:
1-It's not about the outcome, it's about the journey.
2-Next winter...I am getting a flu shot! My oatmeal might be somewhere at the 27K mark...:)
3-A pink medal around my neck can make all the pain go away! :)
Annie
Thanks for all your support and coaching along the way.
